Boot Camp

To continue on with the military theme, I'll argue that I just completed business school boot camp. Classes start on Monday, but for the last two weeks the business students have been sequestered to the classroom for eight to twelve hours a day and given business cases to solve and assigned presentations to give. They also took care of the usual orientation type activities. Much time was also dedicated to self assessment and attention was already paid to career development and summer internships. This was a good chance to get to know my class mates, and so far I feel really good about all of the people in the program.

Yesterday afternoon was spent doing community service at a local nature park. We repaired trails and foot bridges for four hours or so. It was a nice change of pace to get out of the classroom and do something physical. But when we were done I was anxious to get home and see the girls before bed time. I now have the weekend to spend with the family- except for the one professor who already sent out an assignment for Monday’s class…drat! No worries, it is only 5% of our grade.

If anyone wants WAY more details on what is going on at school, my cohort has it's own blog here.

Now I need to get out for a run...
