The day after Christmas all of the Johnsons (including the Wilks) came out to Grammy and Popscotch's new beach house in Lincoln City. This is the first time anyone but Mom and Dad has seen the house in person. It is a four bedroom so for the time being Kizzy gets the couch, but we have an idea to fix that. The house holds the whole family surprisingly well. The cousins have been keeping themselves very entertained. Juby is getting a lot of attention from being the youngest of the cousins.
The first day here Steve, Kiz, and Popscotch took the grandkids down to the beach to explore and saw a sea lion. Yesterday morning Steve, Dad, and I ran a combined 15 miles exploring the area. Last night Steve spearheaded a kids night out (the Gen X kids, not the grandkids). So the seven of us had a very nice meal at the Blackfish Cafe, while Grammy and Popscotch (and Maddie) stayed home with the grandkids. There are eight grandkids, so a big thanks for staying home and letting us go out.
We held The First Annual Pinochle Tournament and Team Arctic Blast won (Amy and I). Many other games have been played as well.
For Sunday breakfast Steph and Beth are collaborating on a super feast; it's a big, well stocked kitchen. It'll be served shortly so I need to get ready.
Pictures to follow.
