Silver Creek Falls Hike

We're planning on going to Disneyland when the family is in So Cal this summer for our family reunion. Now that we have researched the cost of a family of 4 attending the park for 1 day I am intent on getting our money's worth. This means that I have put Soph and Juby into training to make sure they can get the most out of this trip. Every night we go for a walk to build up our Disneyland Exploration Endurance and have worked up to over a mile.

Since this began Steph overheard the girls talking and Soph said, out of the clear blue sky, " I want to walk under a waterfall." For some reason Juby came up to her and angrily responded: "No Sophie! I want to go on a hike!" We have no idea what prompted them to want to do either of these things, but when I also found out that Steph had been to Silver Creek Falls a dozen times to play for weddings, but had never seen the actual falls, I realized a trip was in order.

We did a 3 mile hike and saw the South and Lower South Falls. I had researched hiking with little kids and am now really impressed that the girls were able to do this hike with no problems. Juby asked me to carry her a little bit, but was a real trooper. I think our training has paid off a little.

We packed a picnic lunch and found a playground for the girls after the hike. I hadn't been to SCF in probably 15 years. I had forgotten how cool this park was. These groomed trails are a great introduction to hiking for Soph and Jube. The girls have already asked to go back.
