I'm a Mac

My good old trusty PC is dying. I used that computer very hard for the last three years, and it has been groaning with the added work load of school work. My computer was an Averatec brand and I can't complain about it. I had a 12 inch, very portable. It didn't have any options, really, just a lean mean computing machine. But it can't keep up any longer.

With Steve working at Apple, and the chances I've had to play with Macs recently, I decided to go with a Mac Powerbook. This thing is a performance monster. I got the 15 inch, and so far I like the bigger screen. I also got a solid state hard drive, so its weird to hear no sound at all. Especially since I'm used to the old machine that had started drawing attention in class with it's constant hum.

Transferring all my data from the PC to the Mac took longer and was less straight forward than I'd hoped, but so far I'm still wowed by all the flashy stuff the Mac has to offer. The design is light years ahead of every PC laptop I've seen. Office 2008 for Mac works fine so far, but the layout is different so there is more learning curve to travel.

Steph has grown tired of hearing how cool the Mac is: it's made almost entirely from common recyclable materials and has no harmful heavy metals or toxins. The case is milled form a solid block of aluminum and it is super rigid for such a slim case. I seriously don't know why someone would need a Macbook air, this thing is so thin.

So, now that I have a Mac I'll be off to the store to purchase a dozen black turtlenecks and then I'll be off to register as a liberal democrat...I think that's required.
