Tuesday afternoon we headed out to pick up Debby from the airport, sans air conditioning. It was an interesting ride. Supposedly, we live just under 30 minutes from ATX, but getting there felt like 15! Getting home however, heh, heh . . . let’s just say Debby got a warm welcome to Austin. She put on a brave face. I believe she made the comment, “Well, I’m glistening all right. But I’m not dying.”
We took in some of the sights on our way back home, and have been acquainting Debby with the geography of the area we live in since then. Ok, so sue me. Today all that meant was we went to Randall’s (Safeway) and a Super Target. Oh, and McDonald’s for an after school treat. Just for the girls, I swear. Perhaps a Reese’s McFlurry found its way into my belly, but I did work out today. I deserved it.
We have great plans for the rest of our time here, but the biggest thing for now is getting the air conditioning fixed in the Cruiser. Holy cow. (I actually feel kind of tough for having made it this long, in this heat, and a hurricane, without it.)
